Ragnar Relay

Ragnar Relay is my favorite race of the year. Our team is the Dirty Underwear Gang and we have been together for the last three/four years, almost everyone comes back each year. We have so much fun together cheering each runner on and laughing all night at the dumbest things, due to lack of sleep. The scenery is absolutely beautiful as we run along the back of the Wasatch Mountain range. I'm always amazed as I run at how pretty everything is.

I was the first runner this year. My first leg was 5 miles through Logan. The sun was shining and it was pretty hot by the time I was finished. My team was so great and always made sure I had enough water. My second run was 8.5 miles down from Snowbasin Ski Resort. This was such a fun run -- my team makes fun of me because I say that every run was the "best run of my life!" But, I really feel that way. Everytime I run I get so excited! My last run was 5 miles from Oakley into Kamas and was a perfect way to end the race for me. The temp was perfect and the sun was just coming up over the mountain. I loved it!

What a fun time -- we are already signed up for next year. We didn't want to wait a full year to experience this again, so we are going to do the one in Vegas in October. We run from St. George into Vegas. Now I have something to look forward to!!!!

Sand Hollow

The weather has been so cold here this June, so we were excited to head south to Sand Hollow for a little fun in the sun! Brent had his 5th wheel, which is really like the nicest hotel on wheels you can imagine. It even has central vac and a fireplace! We were pretty spoiled.

One night we projected a movie onto the back of the 5th wheel. We watched Mall Cop and the kids thought it was so much fun to watch a movie under the stars.

We ate the best food ever -- BBQ'd every night.

Brent and Troy! Troy has always loved Brent and even told Rick that he likes Rick "just a little bit more" than Brent. We think he was just trying to make Rick feel good. Troy and the kids always looks forward to all the crazy games Brent will play with them.

Mallory tried skiing for the first time and LOVED it. Now she begs to go first every time we are on the boat. I think she will fit right in to this family!

It was such a fun and relazing weekend. Thanks Brent, Melissa and the Halls for such a great time. There is never a dull moment with this group!

Memorial Day at Last Chance

Three Day Weekend = sore muscles from skiing, skiing, and more skiing at Last Chance!
I could hardly move after pulling to and turning around those little orange bouys in the lake for three days straight. But, I can't complain because in some sick sort of way, it is such a great feeling not to be able to move from total exhaustion! I love being so tired from being in the sun all day long, snacking, laughing with friends and family, and watching my kids make childhood memories that will last a life time.

Spencer had a great day -- he learned to ride a motorcycle and also got up on skiis for the first time. He rode motorcycles and skiied all over the lake

Brandon helped with the dutch oven cooking. We knew we brought him along for something besides entertaining us with his amazing skiing!
It was a beautiful afternoon and the weather was perfect, just until it was time to eat dinner. We had just put all the food outside and were about to eat when the wind picked up, and I mean really picked up. We were in the middle of a twister as we watched paper plates flying, towels and clothes blowing into the lake; including Dan's tennis shoes which were floating perfectly upright across the lake. It was crazy .... we were so grateful for the 5th wheel to pile into and have dinner. It was a little cozy, but fun out of the wind.

Once we dismissed all of Lisa's excuses not to ski (ie: it's too cold, not smooth enough, the clouds are coming, what if there's lightening, its Sunday, blah blah blah) she got in her first run on the butter at Last Chance!

The kids found some duck eggs. It is so fun to see all the ducks who have made their home on the lake. Rick was pulling me through the course and had to stop to let a mother duck and her babies cross. He was afraid he would hit them.
